Chaotic Trading Card Games: Orchis Undin

I painted each layer of petals seperately, then composited them and painted their refractions one at a time untill the distortion effect was achieved.

Narrative: The Orchis Undin was discovered by Blazier who was among the first OverWorlders who traversed the area of the Citadel of the Elements, known as “the gardens”. Here the OverWorlders set up camp and began exploring the area and of course Blazier led the expedition and mapping effort. In the dense mangrove of “the gardens”, they found an unusual flower growing on the roots of other trees, just above the surface of the water. This plant, named the Orchis Undin, seemingly held a powerful bond to the element of water and the first attempts to remove and cultivate one of these flowers failed. Finally Blazier realized that it could only be harvested and carried by creatures in tune with the element of water and it could not be removed from the life-giving waters for long.
